  Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State today ordered with immediate effect, the re-opening of Bodija market in Ibadan, the state capital. The market was closed on Thursday afternoon after a clash reported to have claimed about six lives occurred between butchers and men of the Oyo State Police command. Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Toye Arulogun who announced the reopening of the market explained that the decision was taken after due consultation with security agencies and all the stakeholders of the market. He assured that adequate security measures have been put in place by the government to forestall any crisis and ensure that people go about their normal businesses.   10 people are reported to have died in an accident that occurred on Kaduna-Kano expressway on Saturday. The accident occurred around Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria, at about 5:30 a.m. The Head of Public Enlightenment, Zaria Unit Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Idris Yahaya, confirmed the accident and casualty saying the “pathetic’’ accident involved three vehicles, a luxury bus; a car; and an articulated vehicle.   “There are 48 persons in the three vehicles; nine people got burnt to death, while one other woman died in the hospital, 31 persons were injured while seven persons survived the accident. The police in Enugu state has made a startling revelation of how female students in Junior Secondary Schools in the state, are getting gang raped as part of requirements before joining different female cult groups in the state.The state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Danmallam, disclosed this when he spoke with The Sun.  The police chief said the command got a tipoff that 30 female Junior Secondary School students were to be intiated into different cult groups, Viron Queens or White Angels confraternities.The command swung into action, visited the schools and arrested some of the girls who were identified as Naomi Peace,15, Ruth Nwoke, 14, Chibuogu Adaeze, 15 and Ujunwa Ede, 14. The Imo state police command has arrested 34 year old Nnamdi Ethelbert Ogidi pictured above, who is a member of a kidnapping syndicate that specilize in abducting older women and raping them while in his custody. Parading him before newsmen, the state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi, said Ogidi was arrested after himself and his gang members kidnapped one 74-year old woman, Regina Nkwocha, from Umuanyika, Ngorokpala local government area of Imo state. They were negotiating a N20million ransom when detectives busted their hideout at Umuaguma in Owerri west, Imo state on May 23rd. Ogidi was arrested while the other members of his gang fled the scene.The police chief said on November 29, 2017, Ogidi and his gang members kidnapped Adulphus Akagha aged 94; on May 7, 2018, they kidnapped 65 year old Dorothy Nkwo and demanded for N5million ransom. She was later released after the family paid N500, 000.When interrogated, Ogidi said himself and his gang members love to kidnap and rape
