If you missed the Abuja Grill & BBQ Festival 2016: Don't miss the upcoming Lagos edition!

If you spent the Independence weekend in Abuja and you weren’t at the Abuja Grill Festival, you missed out big time! All roads led to Harrow Park in the Central Business District of the nation’s capital on independence day October 1st.  The ooze of barbecue and all kinds of grilled food welcomed the guests and they strolled in by the minute.

The crowd was large, energetic and diverse- with demographic ranging from Adults, to young teens, youths and even children as they came to celebrate the independence break.

The event started at about 2pm, with DJ kenny and his hypeman Jasuper serving the crowd with party-ready tracks and setting the mood for an unforgettable feast of flavours. Whilst the music kept playing, food vendors began setting up as guests trudged in. The food vendors included; Smoking Goat Grill, Grind Grill, Bolicious, Good Eats Nigeria, Grill Party Abuja, Grills in and Out, Honey Dew Pops, Chop N’ Go Nigeria, 41 Rogue, Blue Sky Grillz, Whitecloudshookah Contessa Gourmet Foods, Shirley’s Confectionery, Barkono Grill, Crush grills and Delicioso Mobile Chefs. There were bites in surplus as guests explored their options ranging from Grilled chicken, Grilled Fish, Asun, Boli, Confectionaries and many more.

The Abuja Grill festival wasn’t just all about food. The guests couldn’t get enough of Chocolate City’s Koker as he thrilled them with his electrifying stage performance of his hit singles. Another standout performance came from the X3m music stars Simi and Sammy, who got the guests up on their feet When Simi got on the stage and belted out the first notes to her hit track ‘’Jamb Question’’, the large crowd cheered and revelled in the moment. Other artists that rocked the stage includes; Amuta Stone,  Cnik Ree, Lyrical Dr Smith  with choreography performances from the A.M.A studios.

The host for the event was Matilda Duncan who handled the event superbly.
The famed Grill Master Class wasn’t to be missed as Event co-ordinator Francis Ebie (GMG), famously known as Grill Master Grind, gave a detailed showing on the preparation of various grilled dishes infused with Jack daniels and also conducted the spicey chicken wings competition. During the event, we caught up with the Grill Master Grind himself and he had this to say;
‘’Today marks the second edition of the festival and as you can see, we kept to our promise to elevate the standards and make it world-class. I am already excited for the Lagos edition in April 2017 during the Easter holidays!’’.
It was indeed a great show with maximum fun and was well worth every penny.

 We will definitely be back next year, October 1st for the 2017 edition of the Abuja Grill & Bbq festival and you should make plans too.

The kids were not left out, various games such as bouncing castles, rodeo bull, train rides and mountain climbing were deployed courtesy of  Wiggle parties.
